Preschool Director Welborne United Methodist Church (part-time)
Hours: 30 Hours/Week, Salaried
Primary hours are August 15- May 15, 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and June-July hours vary. Student School Hours: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Any Extracurricular activities end by 1:30 p.m.
Salary: $30,000-35,000 annually ($20-$22 an hour)
Benefits: Paid Time off, no weekends, follows school breaks and schedule
The purpose of Welborne Christian Preschool is to help children achieve their highest potential in physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual development. We also support the family and help parents in the crucial years of child-rearing. In addition, WCP provides an example of the highest qualities of the Christian faith. Education, Training and Skills: Specific experience should include: • a bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field. • At least five years of experience teaching children, preferably preschoolers. • Administrative experience and be able to balance administrative and teaching demands. • Computer and technological skills to support both administration and teaching. • Demonstrated awareness of children with special education needs and socioeconomic/cultural differences and the ability to adapt the program to include them whenever possible. • Be creative, flexible, organized, nurturing and energetic with strong communication skills with both young children and adults. • Ability to implement behavior management policies that would reflect the United Methodist Church’s Christian values. • Ability to work collaboratively and collegially with ministry team members, staff, volunteers and preschool families. General Job Description and Responsibilities • Promoting the School and Recruitment, including giving tours, highlighting scholarship • Managing program accreditation, licensures, staff development • Maintain relationship with Preschool Ministry team & Welborne UMC Leadership team • Guide and oversee staff, including evaluations, scheduling substitutes and supporting staff.
