The Small Church Leadership Team (SCLT) was formed in 2011 as a means of encouraging, training and equipping small congregations and their pastors to vibrant and fruitful ministry.
That priority continues by offering opportunities to learn, grow and connect, so these goals can be met.
Currently the SCL Team offers a “Just In Time” Training for pastors going to lead a small congregation for the first time. This training is an opportunity to share valuable information at the beginning of a pastor’s appointment to such a setting.
The Team has also been able to offer some great fall training events as well.
The Virginia Conference considers small churches as 149 or less in Average Worship Attendance. The SCLT welcomes suggestions, feedback and ideas for future events from small church pastors and laity alike.
The members of the SCLT Team are: June Carpenter (chair), Linda Ray, Don Jamison, Lynne Caldwell, Debra Lucas, Warren Harper, Dan Kim, John Hall, Dickie Coffey and Scott Davis (Cabinet Rep).
