  • An information and orientation session for those interested in Certified Lay Ministry (1/2 day)

Webinar Training for Certified Lay Ministers (CLM) Specialization in Congregational Care July 15-16, 2022

The Caring Congregation is offering a two-day focused webinar training for Certified Lay Ministers to become specialized in Congregational Care on July 15-16, 2022 (Friday/Saturday).

This course includes the same training received in the full online Basic CCM Training Course plus an additional final project to create a “Care Ministry Action Plan” which is to be submitted to the UMC Discipleship Ministries. The webinar offers inspiring worship and nationally known speakers.
Prerequisite: Certified as a CLM in the United Methodist Church.

District Training Events

Information is posted about Lay Servant Ministries training opportunities on the district level as it is received. Individuals can participate in learning opportunities on any district. Most courses are held in the spring and fall. You may want to check individual district websites and newsletters for course availability. 

Available Online Courses

BeADisciple.com hosts online courses which have been approved by the General Board of Discipleship as advanced courses in Lay Servant Ministries.BeADisciple.com is one of several programs of the Institute for Discipleship at Southwestern College, a United Methodist institution in Winfield, Kansas. Several of the courses also offer 1 CEU for clergy and other staff.  You can find upcoming LSM courses on the www.beadisciple.com website as well as studies through The Upper Room, courses from the YouthWorker Movement, and Safe Sanctuaries training.
