Greeting Pastors and Lay Servants and Lay Speakers,
Annual Charge Conferences are upon us, and it is time for Lay Servant and Lay Speakers and Certified Lay Ministers (who are not in a pastoral roll) to submit their annual reports with the churches Charge Conference reports.
This document provides guidance on how to use and update the Lay Servant Annual report:
Lay Servant Charge Conference Report (for Certified Lay Servants and Certified Lay Speakers)
Basic Lay Servants DO NOT complete a report. If you are uncertain about Lay Servants reports please contact your districts.

To submit your report, please follow the following steps:
1. Each Lay Servant (any level, including those who have taken only one lay servant course but have not certified) needs to be listed in Church Leadership (under the Church Section of Unity)
2. All Certified Lay Servants, Certified Lay Speakers, and Certified Lay Ministers need Unity Credentials so they can complete an Annual Conference Report. Your pastor or district office can help with this.
3. Once you have received credentials,
⚬ Go to unity.vaumc.org
⚬ Click on Charge
⚬ Click on Charge Conference
⚬ Click on the date of upcoming charge conference
⚬ Scroll down to the listing of Lay Servant names. Click “Create New” by your name. It will pull up the correct level report.
⚬ Complete report and click Submit.
Tips:
Submit the report as you are working on it and go back in to edit as needed. The report times out at 90 minutes and you will lose your data if not submitted. If you miss a question, it will show a red warning at the top.
The 2026 report is under the Charge Conference Section (not under the downloadable reports and not under Lay Servant Ministries section).
