The United Methodist Church, through the General Commission on the Status and Role of Women, has a Web site with resources and information about sexual ethics. This Web site addresses the issues of sexual misconduct, abuse, and harassment by those entrusted with ministerial roles in the United Methodist Church. Click here to link: www.umsexualethics.org.  

For concerns or questions about possible incidents of sexual misconduct involving a minister in the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church or to report an incident of clergy sexual misconduct, you may contact Steve Summers, Assistant to the Bishop and Director of Connectional Ministries, at (804) 521-1133 or any of the district superintendents (a listing of the district superintendents can be found by clicking here

If you feel you are in any immediate danger, please call your local law enforcement authority or “911” promptly!

If you have been sexually assaulted, please contact your local crisis center which can be found through the Family Violence and Sexual Assault Virginia Hotline at 1-800-838-8238 (v/tty). It is free, confidential and available 24/7.
