Hope is Here: A Day of Spiritual Renewal

Do you feel overwhelmed and stressed by all the things? Does your heart break for those who are suffering due to injustice and oppression, in whatever forms they take? Are you concerned about the planet and those impacted by natural disasters? Do you need a reminder that hope is here?
All clergy are invited to join us for a day of hope and spiritual renewal, engage in spiritual practices, and learn from Dr. Luther Smith. This unique event, coordinated by the Spiritual Formation team of the Board of Ordained Ministry, is a time for clergy to set aside all anxieties, stress, and concerns and to be present in the Hope of Jesus Christ.
Who Should Attend?
All clergy are invited.
How Much Does it Cost?
The cost per person is $35, which covers lunch, supplies, and processing fees.
Who is the Plenary Speaker?
Luther E. Smith, Jr. is Professor Emeritus of Church and Community, Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He is the author and editor of many books on Howard Thurman, Christian community, and spiritual practices. His most current book is Hope is Here! Spiritual Practices for Pursuing Justice and Beloved Community (Westminster John Knox Press).
Will There be Workshops?
No. Instead of workshops, there will be opportunities to engage in various spiritual practices, many of which we have been practicing together as an Annual Conference through Soul Feast.
How Many CEUs do I Get?
If you read Dr. Smith’s book Hope is Here! and attend the event, you will receive 1.0 CEU. If you only attend the event, you will receive 0.5 CEU. CEUs will be distributed after an evaluation has been completed.
