The Annual Conference Mission Offering will be collected during the Saturday morning, June 19, sending worship service. Churches are asked to share the Annual Conference Missional Offering purpose and encourage church members to participate. All offerings collected by the local church can be sent to the Conference Treasurer’s Office, PO Box 5605, Glen Allen, VA 23058. Checks may be made payable to “Virginia Conference of the UMC” with “AC Offering 2021” in the memo line. Churches and individuals may also give through the online giving link.
Local churches are encouraged by the bishop to participate in this second-mile offering as an expression of support for designated conference priority mission projects and programs locally, nationally, and globally. Our goal total set by Bishop Lewis for the offering is $200,000. If every church in the Virginia Conference contributes $200, this goal will be reached! Our collective effort to become a blessing will remind us how we are ‘United as One” in God’s mission!

Food Insecurity in the Commonwealth – Long lines across the country, with people waiting in line for food, revealed the food insecurity ordinary people experience. The long-lasting effect of COVID creates more demand for food. The Virginia Annual Conference members’ offering will address this problem and contribute to support and solve food insecurity in the Commonwealth.
Partnerships of Hope – Partnerships of Hope, formerly known as ‘Initiatives of Hope,’ has been a unique approach to focus our efforts to share the Good News globally. With the name change, we plan to strengthen our partnership among local churches to reach out to our partners overseas. Cambodia, Mozambique, and Brazil are the three countries in which we are focusing our efforts. A couple of years ago, we recognized and included the Native American ministries and expanded our partnership.
In Mozambique we provide support for Theological Education for Leaders ministry while in Brazil, our efforts support the Shade and Water Ministry. In Cambodia our focus is on support for street children and making Cambodia a provisional methodist denomination.
Offerings collected through the 2021 Annual Conference will be distributed evenly among the causes. Your local church’s support of the 2021 Annual Conference Missional Offering will be a testament to how we are ‘United as One’ in God’s mission!
