Local church connection and district:
Deacon serving as Director of Connecting Ministries for the Mountain View District.

Guiding scripture leading into General Conference:
Ephesians 4: 1-6
“I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.

Favorite paragraph of the Book of Discipline (we all have one, right?):

¶ 105 Section 4 – Our Theological Task
Lots of great stuff here!

A brief statement on your call to serve as a delegate:

I’m honored to serve as the second Clergy alternate in the Virginia Delegation to General Conference. I think it’s the best possible spot for me. I’ll be ready to fill in as I’m needed for delegates who need to take a break to care for themselves. I feel especially called to provide prayer support in person to our delegation and to dedicate myself to listening for the movement of the Holy Spirit.

Specific prayer request(s) for the work ahead:

Pray that I’ll be able to keep my heart/mind/body/soul grounded in the love of Christ so I can pay attention in a deeply spiritual way. I humbly desire to extend peace and become an agent of unity.
