In February 2025, UMCom (United Methodist Communications)  announced a strategy change for the new quadrennium. This change also brings about adjustments to the services they offer.

As part of this change, the organization will no longer be doing web hosting for local church clients. They have partnered with Tithe.ly to provide an option for churches as a next step, but churches may choose to find another vendor. View full letter sent to churches here.

You are encouraged to sign up with Tithe.ly or notify UMCom of another decision by June so that they can ensure the smoothest transition possible for your website before hosting support ends on December 31, 2025.

We have churches throughout VAUMC who have been using these services. This infographic created by  Kim Johnson, Director of Communications in Northern Virginia District, helps churches who have hosted their website with UMCOM on best next steps in light of this announcement.
