Rev. Steven Jackson Lewis, age 83, formerly of Selma, took the hand of Jesus and entered heaven on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Brian Center Nursing Care-Alleghany, Low Moor, VA. He was the husband of the late June Carol Thomas Lewis.
Rev. Lewis was born January 25, 1942 in Oyster, VA, the son of the late Thomas Lewis and Alice Marshall Lewis. He was a Methodist minister for forty-seven years before his retirement.
Rev. Lewis is survived by a daughter, Holli Lewis of Staunton, VA; a grandson, Stephen Gage Hoffman; two great grandchildren, Espen Kai Beverage and Paisley June Hoffman; two nieces; and one nephew.
The family wishes to share one of his favorite scriptures, “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us for the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39.”
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
