The Reverend Howard Milford Gosnell, 90, of Stephens City, VA died Friday, December 26, 2025 at Winchester Medical Center.
He was born September 22, 1935 in Licking County, Ohio, the son of Clarence Milford Gosnell and Esther Hazel Gosnell. He was a proud graduate of Ohio State University. After graduation he became an ordained Methodist minister. His was an avid bowler and golfer.
Howard married Evelyn A. Stevenson June 26, 1955; Evelyn preceded him in death July 24, 2007. Howard married Margaret C. Kremer, November 29, 2014 in Stephens City, VA.
He is survived by his second wife Margaret, two daughters, Denise I. Smedley and husband Michael of Stephens City, VA, Deanne A. Jenkins and husband Owen of Shenandoah, VA, stepchildren, Bruce Kump and wife Gerri of WV, and Julie Kump (Darrell) of VA, seven grand children, and five great- grandchildren.
A funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 11:00am at Kernstown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Victor Gomez officiating.
Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bluemont, VA.
