Nancy was the surviving spouse of Reverend William E. Knight
Nancy Jean Yates Knight was born June 21, 1934 and died December 22, 2025. She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Yates; mother, Vernell Yates; brother, Jerry Yates; and her husband of 48 years, The Reverend William E. Knight. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Knight Williams; Grandson, Rayce Williams (Amanda); and Granddaughter, Kelsey Williams Carvajal (Rene). She has four great grandchildren, Rory, Vera, Caroline and James.
Nancy was a long time volunteer at Retreat Hospital and Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. She was a life long United Methodist, but received her early spiritual training at Camp Alkulana, a Baptist camp for inner city children. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Camp Alkulana would be appreciated. Camp Alkulana 2828 Emerywood Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23294.
