Myrtle C. Harrell was the surviving spouse of Rev. Manning B. Harrell.
Myrtle Lee (Clifton) Harrell, 93, of Scottsville, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.
She was born on December 23, 1931, a daughter of the late David Edward and Gladys Viola (Miller) Clifton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Manning Berry Harrell; a daughter, Cynthia Wilkinson; a great-grandson, Randy Byrd Brooks; a brother, Maurice Clifton; a sister, Margie Peebles; and a son-in-law Phil Bass.
Myrtle was a homemaker and served alongside her husband in ministry for 35 years. She loved to sing, especially with her family, served as choir director and taught Sunday School. Most recently, she was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Buckingham.
Survivors include a daughter, Constance Bass; four grandchildren, Brian Ragland (Marie), Kevin Ragland (Tracy), Scott Dorrier (Rachelle), and Travis Dorrier (Sherry); seven great-grandchildren, Willow (Chad), Katelyn, Bailey, Nicholas, Jordan, Ben, and Andrew; and three great-great-grandchildren, Randi, Sophia and Rowan.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, March 8 at Centenary Church Cemetery by the Rev. Dr. Alan McCullough.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Bethlehem Baptist Church, PO Box 66, Dillwyn, VA 23936.
