The Rev. Ryan LaRock, chair of the conference Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry, shares the following announcement:
On behalf of the Virginia Conference Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry, it is my honor to announce that we have chosen the Rev. Dr. B. Justin Allen to be this year’s recipient of the Francis Asbury Award. This award honors and recognizes the transformative work of a clergy or laity member who exemplifies the formative values of collegiate ministry in our conference.
Allen has been an incredible vessel for God’s grace while serving in the Spiritual Life and Student Affairs offices at Shenandoah University for several years. His ministry with students, his educational work with the Lilly Foundation and Calling 21 program, and his pursuit of interfaith dialogue among the university population are just a few expressions of the gifts and witness Justin has shared in our conference.
