Beloved Clergy of the Virginia United Methodist Annual Conference,
How is it with your soul?
We know how hard it is to be a giver and we are grateful for the many ways you share God’s love with your families, your congregations and communities. We wish to provide some love and support for you by offering a place where you can share deeply to remember and renew the Love of God that calls and guides you in your ministry.
To that end these spiritual directors are called to offer you a safe space for spiritual direction in a group format. Groups will meet once a month for about two hours (depending on the size of the group). We intend for them to meet for six months and then have a time to re-evaluate. Some groups may begin in February and others in March. What a great gift to give yourself for Lent. Every participant will have the opportunity to share at each meeting. As in one-on-one spiritual direction everything is kept confidential. Some are meeting on Zoom and others are meeting in person.
Below you will find the spiritual directors/guides/companions (choose the name that works for you), the time they can meet, and their contact information. When you find a group that works for your calendar please contact that director to reserve your spot. If there is not a time that works for you please contact the group coordinator: Rev. Kimberly Barker-Brugman at [email protected] and we will attempt to create a new group. Likewise if a group fills up at your desired time slot we will try to add another group at that same time.
Second Tuesday of the month — 2 p.m. in-person – Rev. Dr. Michelle Kim – [email protected] – Northern VA District. – 4 slots
Tuesday evening from 7-9 pm – group will determine which week – Zoom. Rev. Kim Barker-Brugman, Coastal Virginia District – [email protected]
If the time slot you wanted was full and you can’t make the other groups work please contact [email protected] and we will try to get some other groups together. We are adapting as necessary including in person and on line groups.
Thank you for your interest.
