The Virginia Conference is pleased to announce Kim Johnson as Director of Resourcing effective September 8, 2025. This full-time, collaborative position will resource the conference, five districts (Coastal Virginia, Mission Rivers, Mountain View, Shenandoah River, and Valley Ridge), and local churches throughout the Virginia Conference.
The position of Director of Resourcing will strengthen communication and resourcing systems across the Virginia connection by:
- identifying redundancy across the conference and districts and
- recommending and implementing tools and processes that simplify and align across all levels to best support the overall conference strategy.
In her previous role, Johnson was responsible for communications for the Northern Virginia District, a role she left when her husband, the Rev. Brian Johnson, was appointed to be the lead pastor of Williamsburg UMC.
“As multiple districts almost immediately partnered with Kim to help with their communications needs, Bishop Sue discerned that the Conference would be wise to bring Kim onto the Conference staff as well, since her immense gifts in communications also dovetail nicely with opportunities that lie ahead to supplement the excellent work already being done by Communications Director Madeline White and her team. We welcome Kim into this new role with excitement and thanksgiving,” Rev. Doug Forrester, Assistant to the Bishop and Chief Operating Officer (COO), said.
