First United Methodist Church (FUMC) in Wilson, North Carolina, seeks a versatile and collaborative Director of Traditional Music Ministries. The Director will direct choral and instrumental groups to minister to the entire congregation.

FUMC has a vibrant music ministry with a rich heritage in a large congregation in Wilson. This position includes playing the Petty-Madden Opus 24, 41-rank organ (1989), and directing the Chancel (adult) Choir, the handbell choir, and the children’s choir with the assistance of other accompanists and instrumentalists. The Director also leads music in weekly Chapel experiences for our Weekday School (preschool and kindergarten) and collaborates with our Contemporary Worship Leader.

The Director leads participants of all ages in music-making experiences, so that they may grow as faithful Christian disciples and gain skills to serve the church effectively as music leaders. The Director will be a part of a collegial staff team that coordinates worship and other ministries of the congregation. For more information, see the position description.
