James Edward Opetaia-Williamson born March 21, 1946 and died on June 29, 2026. A vibrant outdoorsman, he was our Pastor from July 1992 through June 1999 with his beautiful wife Pisa and their 3 children, Sherry, Steven and Marie. He was responsible for growing our church and bringing many new members into our Worship family. He is rejoicing in heaven with his wife Pisa and daughter Marie. Thank you Jim for your love, devotion, insights, and service to our church.

On behalf of Dad, we want to thank you for your love and support. Throughout the week, we have had many reach out, share their stories of him, and remind us of the legacy he left behind. It is an honor to have known and been loved by him as well as to see his dreams come to life personally and through others. To hear that dad was a role model to many of you and provided a safe space to be who you are, is a comfort to us. Dad’s personality was not one to have big gatherings to celebrate him, but instead to honor him by continuing to tell his stories and make positive change in the world.
Dad’s greatest joy was to love our mom, Pisa. He often spoke of how much he missed her and how she would’ve loved to see her grandchildren grow into themselves. In remembrance of both mom and dad, in lieu of a service, we ask that any donations in dad’s name be sent to Moffitt Cancer Center for continuing cancer research (https://www.moffitt.org/give/)
