Hunter Bryn joined the conference Communications staff on Oct. 26, 2020 as Digital Media Specialist.
Bryn graduated from Western Carolina University in 2016 with a communications degree and a double concentration in broadcasting and journalism. He recently worked at NBC12 in Richmond where he was a photojournalist. While there, he covered everything from breaking news throughout Richmond to the Iowa Caucuses with Greta Van Susteren.
A passion for Bryn is the blending of people and creativity. “Storytelling is a passion of mine, I love being able to tell someone’s story in a creative way,” Bryn said.
Originally from Wilmington, N.C., Hunter and his wife, Hannah Bryn, moved with their two dogs from Harrisonburg to Richmond in 2018. They moved to the city for the “amazing food and the live music scene.”
During the pandemic, Bryn said he has discovered his love for board games, enjoying the way board games encourage teams to use critical thinking and friendly competition. His favorite board games right now are Codenames and Gloomhaven.
Growing up at Wrightsboro UMC in Wilmington, N.C., has given Bryn a love for Christ and a deep understanding of what it is like to work within the church.
“My dream job in high school was to produce videos for church,” Bryn said. “I’ve created videos for churches here and there, but never expected I’d be able to make a career out of it.”
