Volunteers needed for Bucket Brigade

UMCOR has spoken, the call has gone out; Flood Buckets (Cleaning Kits) are being put together, prepared, and collected for such a time as this.  ALL of the Flood Buckets will wind up at the Conference Office (10330 Staples Mill Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060) for transport to Mission Central in Mechanicsburg, PA.  And this is where a Bucket Brigade Callout has been established for 9:00 am Thursday, November 10 when buckets will be loaded for transport (hopefully more than our goal of 4,677!).

A Bucket Brigade Callout involves anyone who can help with this task…loading buckets on a truck to remember and honor those who have experienced devastating floods, especially in Florida, but also in Virginia and Kentucky (and other floods that will surely come).  Plan now to be there for an hour or two as part of the first Bucket Brigade Callout in the history of the Conference…for the benefit of desperate folks who will not know who you are.

There won’t be T-shirts…but there might be donuts.
