The Lay Servant Ministries Catalog says this about the course: “This course is foundational for all courses in Lay Servant Ministries. Participants are encouraged to discover and employ personal spiritual gifts as God intended and to consider the importance of exercising servant leadership, developing future leaders, remaining rooted in consistent spiritual practices, and being part of a group that holds members accountable in their discipleship.”
God calls you to a life of servanthood as a disciple of Jesus Christ. The Basic Course is for those exploring Lay Servant Ministries, which is a certification program for those who chose such a path of servanthood. It also serves as a ‘refresher course’ for anyone who has not participated in the program for some time and would like to recertify. The course is also open to anyone, clergy, lay leadership, and laity in general, who is simply interested in knowing more about the program. Learners are not required to certify to participate.
As a plus (+) this offering expands the introduction to lay ministry with additional information about the program which is why it is a great course for pastors, church leadership, and lay persons. Not only will we discover the foundational concept, but learners will also be introduced to the certification process and how lay servants and clergy can share accountability in keeping a lay servant interested, involved, and invested in the caring, sharing, and communicating ministries of Lay Servanthood.
To receive a certificate of completion, each learner must attend both Zoom sessions. Participants will receive the Zoom information from the instructor before the first session.
