Singing 101 Workshop, Resurrection UMC, 1322 Centerville Turnpike N, Chesapeake, VA 23320. Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 9am-2pm. Resurrection UMC, Chesapeake is having a Singing 101 Workshop where we will learn basic breathing, note reading, and sight-singing on November 11, 2023, from 9am-2pm. We are pleased to have Dr. Martha Springstead lead this workshop. This workshop is free and open to the community. Let us learn together, praising, and making a joyful noise unto the Lord. Psalm 100:1-2.
Dr. Martha Springstead received her Doctor of Musical Arts and Master’s Degree in Music Education from Shenandoah University. She is the retired choral director of the award-winning program at Landstown High School, after a career in public school music for over 40 years. Her choirs performed in Disney World as part of the Disney Honors Choir, Washington, DC and New York City. Dr. Springstead served as Director of Music at Community UMC for 32 years, and currently serves as choral director and vocal instructor at Tidewater Community College, collaborative pianist for the Camarata Singers at Virginia Wesleyan University and piano instructor at Old Dominion University.
