The Virginia Conference was notified that Lula F. (Lou) Godwin, wife of retired clergy James B. Godwin, Sr., passed from this world to the next on July 28, 2026. Born in Mattoax, Amelia County, Virginia, she was ninety-five years old. Lou and James were married for seventy-five years and she was part of every congregation he pastored. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 8 at 2:00 pm at Wicomico Parish Church on the Northern Neck. Arrangements are being made by Currie Funeral Home.
