Join Our Ministry Team: Administrative Assistant Needed at Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield VA

We’re a small, welcoming Methodist Church seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Administrative Assistant to support our pastor, staff, and congregation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage church communications (phone, email, newsletters)
  • Maintain calendars and schedule meetings
  • Prepare bulletins and worship materials
  • Greet visitors and assist with inquiries
  • Support church committees and events
  • Maintain membership and donation records

Desired qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power Point, familiarity with Mail Chimp, Canva, Weebly and Meta social media applications a plus.
  • Social Media and basic graphic design
  • Experience in administrative or clerical roles
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
  • Familiarity with church life or willingness to learn

Job details:

  • Part-time (e.g., 12-15 hours/week)
  • Hourly rate (e.g., $15–$18/hour)
  • Flexible schedule with occasional weekend tasks
  • Reports to the pastor and church council
  • Desired Start Date April 1 to train with current Administrative Assistant
