Betty was the spouse of Rev. Walter Westbrook.
Betty Joan Blevins Westbrook, 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital Forest. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 2:00pm at Richmond Hill, located at 2209 E Grace St. Richmond VA 23223.
A separate graveside service and family reception will take place in February 2026. Details regarding the exact date, time, and location will be shared once arrangements are finalized.
Born in Glade Spring, Virginia on February 29, 1956, Betty dedicated her life to helping others through her career as a social worker and her role as a pastor’s wife. Betty loved working with children and youth, taking nature photography, scrapbooking and reading. She will be remembered for her kindness, selflessness, infectious laugh, positive outlook and unwavering faith.
Betty is survived by her husband, Walt, her daughter, Cassie Muratore (Jack), and her grandsons, Walter and Wesley. She is also survived by her sisters, Elizabeth and Janie.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Ida, and brothers Jacob and David.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Betty and her long struggle for a diagnosis, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation. This organization provides vital research and support for individuals with the rare disease, Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia.
