In the sure and certain hope of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we share the news of the death of the Rev. Richard Earl Cobb, on Thursday, April 3. He passed peacefully at Virginia Hospital Center surrounded by his family. Richard served as the pastor of Central UMC from 7/22/1998 until his retirement on 6/30/2014.
Please pray for his wife, Carroll, children Rich, Marty, and Jackie, and all who loved him as they grieve their loss. May God’s comfort and peace surround them.
No funeral arrangements have been made at this time, but we anticipate that his memorial service will be scheduled some time after Easter. We will share details once they are finalized.
