Mitch Forrester was the father of Rev. Doug Forrester, Valley Ridge District Superintendent
At dawn on Sunday, May 18, 2025, Walter Mitchell (Mitch) Forrester, 89, of Kilmarnock, Virginia claimed the promise of resurrection to eternal life. He was born in 1936 in Browns Store, Virginia and worked first as a Chesapeake Bay waterman and then as a retail executive for Best Products in Richmond. Mitch is survived by Sue Gaskins Forrester, his wife of 57 years, his sons Michael Forrester (Ursula) and Rev. Douglas Forrester (Tracy), the Valley Ridge District Superintendent, as well as his sister Anne Forrester Caravati and his four grandchildren, Caroline Forrester and Henry Forrester of North Carolina and Ellen Forrester and Claire Forrester of Roanoke.
Mitch’s service of death and resurrection will be held at Kilmarnock UMC where Mitch and Sue are members on June 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Chris Watson presiding.
