Frances C. Gibson was the surviving spouse of Rev. Huron Gilbert Collins.
Frances Collins Gibson, died peacefully in her sleep on May 23, 2025 in Virginia Beach, VA at age 94. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Huron Collins, second husband, Marvin Gibson and three sons, Stephen Collins, Michael Collins and Gilbert Collins.
Left to remember her are her sister, Glennette Hale; daughters, Mimi Schneider and Hope Weitzel; sons, James Collins and Thomas Collins; as well as seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Ms. Gibson was an accomplished pianist, spending many years learning to play as a child. In her free time, she enjoyed birdwatching, gardening and had a fondness for growing Iris. In her later years, she often spoke of her time living at the Algoma Mission School in Virginia where she had the opportunity to raise chickens and pick apples in the fall. Recounting these memories to family brought her joy up until the very end of her life.
