● Beginning the Week of April 21st: Begin receiving completed Kits for Conference
● End of May/Early June: District Wide Collection Days (to be scheduled by each District Drop Off Site)
● Saturday, June 7th: Last Day for District Drop Off Sites to Receive Kits for Conference

The Ask for Designated District Drop Off Sites:
● Have a designated contact person who will be the primary point of contact for organizing who will oversee the following:
○ Select a weekend in May or early June to have a large Kits for Conference drop off day
○ Recruit volunteers to assist with receiving kits on the large drop off day
○ Coordinate drop off availability during the week/normal church operating hours and be available to help coordinate drop off outside of those hours if needed
○ Communicate consistently with Kits for Conference Team Lead Rev. Brian Posey
● Have space large enough to accommodate high volumes of kits in various sizes from smaller packs to five gallon buckets
● Send church name, point of contact name, phone number, and email to Rev. Brian Posey at brianposey@vaumc.org
The Ask for Local Churches Who Want to Build Kits:
● Put kits together! Whether your youth group, children’s Sunday school, weeknight Bible study, UWIF/UMM meetings, the work of UMCOR is for folks of all ages!
● Consider highlighting the work of UMCOR in your offering time during worship, in your church newsletter, as a youth group lesson, or wherever makes sense in the life of your
church community leading up to the district drop off day.
● Offer a blessing over the materials and completed kits and pray for the communities that will receive them, for the hands that will deliver them, and for all who continue to heal from natural disasters.
● Identify a point of contact who will help lead Kits for Conference efforts at your local church and help coordinate completed kits from your local church to your district drop off site. Please note: in the event that your church needs to rent a vehicle to help transport kits from your church to the district drop off site, financial support is available to help offset that cost through the Missional and Community Engagement Office. Please contact Rev. Jo Ann Batteiger at joannbatteiger@vaumc.org with your request.
● Celebrate what you’ve done! Take pictures, post about it on social media, and share in
the excitement of serving together.
