“Good News” Panel Discussion on Exercise, Living Well, and Disease Prevention
Tuesday, January 28, 6:30-8:30 pm
Reveille UMC, 4200 Cary Street Road, Richmond
You are invited to a panel discussion and reception celebrating good news in cancer research and prevention, along with information on exercise and living well on Tuesday, January 28, at 6:30 pm in Reveille’s fellowship hall. This program will be presented by VCU Health, Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center, Sports Backers, and Reveille UMC. Please RSVP to attend at www.bit.ly/massey-jan28.
The good news is that 40% of cancer cases and nearly half of cancer deaths can be prevented. Hear how you can mitigate the risk that you or your loved ones hear the dreaded words “you have cancer,” as well as techniques to survive —and thrive—if you do hear those words. Join cancer, wellness, and faith leaders from VCU, Massey, Sports Backers, and the community, who will explain that exercise, eating and living well, and cancer screenings can help prevent and combat cancer. A reception with light refreshments will follow the panel discussion. Everyone who attends will take home an informative pamphlet filled with recipes and other guides for living a happy and healthy long life.
Our panel includes the following guests:
Amy Williams Massey Advisory Board, Vice-chair and Cancer Survivor
Mary Helen Hackney, M.D. Massey, Medical Director of Community Oncology
Samantha Haswell, MS, RD, CSO Massey, Dietitian, Patient and Family Support Services
Alexander R. Lucas, Ph.D. VCU Pauley Heart Center
