In an effort to model collaboration and connection toward large scale community transformation within the Virginia Annual Conference, the Common Table for Church Vitality, Church Development Team, and Virginia United Methodist Foundation are pleased to announce the formation of the Grantmaking Cooperative. In 2024, the Grantmaking Cooperative is seeking to fund initiatives in the Virginia Annual Conference that embody connectionalism for the purpose of large scale community transformation. Applicants may request a maximum one-time gift of $50,000. Successful applications will maximize the following factors:
● The initiative is coordinated between multiple United Methodist congregations and ministry expressions.
● The initiative has defined, measurable impact in a community (or communities).
● The initiative promotes Wesleyan theology, ecclesiology, and praxis.
● The initiative has buy-in from partner congregations and ministries.
● The initiative represents a new or renewed opportunity for partnership and impact in a community (or communities).
● Grant funding will not be used for brick-and-mortar expenses or overhead costs.

Packets should not exceed 10 pages in length. Following the application deadline, the Grantmaking Cooperative will review packets for funding consideration. Applicants should expect to receive feedback around their packets and potential for funding no later than December 17, 2024.
