Director of Music/Accompanist

Belmont UMC in Richmond seeks a Director of Music/Accompanist.
The Director of Music will ensure that the music ministry at Belmont United Methodist Church is developed and implemented in a way that is supportive of and consistent with the worship style of the church which at this time is Blended Worship and includes hymns, Christian Contemporary and Traditional Gospel Music.  The Director of Music will also provide direction and coordination to all volunteer personnel involved in the Music Ministries of the Church including the Children’s Ministry.  The Director of Music should be proficient in sight reading, piano and/or organ skills, direct the adult Chancel Choir and demonstrate flexibility as needed for different Worship services.  The Director will provide supervision for all AV support – Powerpoint operators, sound board operators, MEVO camera operators.  The position will report to the Senior Pastor. This is a 5-10 hour a week position with rehearsals currently being held on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. prior to the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Belmont is a multi-ethnic church which appreciates a wide variety of musical genre. Salary is commensurate with experience and will range between $15,000.00 to $20,000.00. Background check required.
