Featured Presenter for the November 13, 2019 event and Preacher for the November 14 event:
Kenneth H. Carter, Resident Bishop of the Florida Conference UMC, and president of the Council of Bishops for the UMC, will be presenting the Clergy-only Pre-event on November 13 at Woodlake UMC and preaching at the Clergy and Laity event on November 14. Bishop Carter gives pastoral and administrative leadership to about 800 churches, fresh expressions of church, campus ministries and outreach initiatives. He has served in the Florida Conference since 2012. He is the author of Fresh Expressions: A New Kind of Methodist Church and Embracing the Wideness: The Shared Convictions of United Methodists.
The following presenters will be featured at the November 14 event:
Michael Adam Beck, pastor of Wildwood UMC, Wildwood, Florida, serves on the Fresh Expressions US national leadership team. He and his wife Jill co-pastor Wildwood UMC and direct recovery programs, a jail ministry, a food pantry, an interracial unity movement, and a network of 13 fresh expressions that meet in places like tattoo parlors, dog parks and burrito joints.
Jacqui Lewis is senior minister at Middle Collegiate Church, New York City, a 1,000 member, multi-racial, welcoming and inclusive congregation. She is an activist, preacher, and fierce advocate for equality and economic justice. She is the author of The Power of Stories and 10 Essential Strategies to Grow a Multiracial, Multicultural Congregation.
Anjie and Andy Woodworth are co-pastors of Neighborhood Church and have served churches throughout North Georgia. They are ordained elders in the United Methodist Church. They love to hear and share stories of how God shows up in the middle of real, messy life.
