Youth Director

Bon Air United Methodist Church in Bon Air, VA, is seeking an individual to work part-time (10-15 hours per week) as our director of youth ministries.
The ideal candidate must have experience working with youth (ages 12-18). The responsibilities include working with the Sunday School teachers on curriculum choice as well as planning weekly youth meetings, bible studies, activities, and mission projects. Additionally, there are some activities that include youth and other church groups such as VBS and annual community wide events, which will require working with other staff members or volunteers. The required characteristics of the position include excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must also have the ability to work independently, multitask, and demonstrate the flexibility to manage changing priorities when necessary.
The candidate must also be compassionate, a team player – working with church staff, volunteers, and members. Additional expectations include having a positive attitude and serving as a positive role model for our youth.
