Scottsville United Methodist Church is looking for an accountant/treasurer for the general accounting and reporting of all funds of the Church. This is a part time job, and would include scheduling and paying invoices and payroll, reimbursing Church staff and members for Church expenses, helping with preparation of the annual budget, recording payments and deposit in QuickBooks, and reconciling financial statements. Core competencies should include attention to detail, dependability, and confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel worksheets and pivot tables, and familiarity with QuickBooks premier and Federal and Virginia withholding tax rules and regulations is recommended.
Qualifications:
Education: A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in financial management, accounting, or as a church treasurer is preferred.
Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial management.
