Lead Teacher/Director

The Vale UMC Preschool/Prekindergarten in Oakton, VA is hiring a new Lead Teacher/Director for our morning preschool. This position is responsible for the overall educational programs and administration of the 4-day/week preschool. The preschool has a combined class of 15 three- and four-year-olds and retains a 5:1 student/teacher ratio with two assistant teachers who report to the lead teacher/director. Requirements for the position include a minimum of a bachelors degree in early childhood education or another child-related area as well as a demonstrated understanding of child development, good character, patience, humor and ability to maintain a positive loving environment for children, staff and parents within a Christian community. Hours are typically 20 hours/week during the school year and 4 hours/week during the summer months. Salary range is $15,000-19,000.
