Bon Air United Methodist Church in Bon Air, VA, is seeking individual(s)- to work part-time (15-30 hours per week) as our director of youth and children’s activities.
This position was most recently held by one person; however, in the past, the responsibilities have been split into two positions. The ideal candidate(s) must have experience working with children (ages 3-11) and/or youth (ages 13-18). The responsibilities include working with the Sunday School teachers on curriculum choice as well as organizing and leading children’s events throughout the year. Additional responsibilities include planning weekly youth meetings, activities, and mission projects. The required characteristics of the position include excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must also have the ability to work independently, multitask, and demonstrate the flexibility to manage changing priorities when necessary.
The candidate or candidates must also be compassionate, a team player -working with church staff, volunteers, and members. Additional expectations include having a positive attitude and serving as a positive role model for our youth.
