Court docket details proposed plans for UMC
The first public details of proposed legislation setting out three proposals for resolving the denomination's differences over ministry with LGBTQ people, as well as the full report of the Way Forward Commission, are part of the United Methodist Judicial Council's October docket. Bishop’s Convocation on Prayer set for September 15
Both laity and clergy are invited to attend the Bishop’s Convocation on Prayer on Saturday, September 15, 2018. The event will be held at Reveille UMC, 4200 Cary Street Road, Richmond, VA 23221. Court asked to review gay pastor appeal decision
A gay pastor and the church counsel for the West Ohio Conference are each asking the United Methodist Judicial Council to review a March decision by a jurisdictional appeals court. Those requests — along with the request from the Council of Bishops for a decision about three possible future plans for the denomination — are among the items on the top court's agenda when it meets Oct. 23-26 in Zurich.
