Rising Hope Mission Church in civic partnership
|
Rev. Dr. Jonathan Page, DCM for Innovation & Creativity, went to Rising Hope Mission Church in the NOVA District on August 14. The church is a missional congregation focused in their community in many ways including food and housing insecurity. Rev. Kameron Wilds, pastor, shares how their church engages civic partnerships to not only help individuals but also advocate for and engage in systemic change.

UMCOR is in contact with Iglesia Metodista de Puerto Rico, and their response partner, ReHace IMPR is working on preparation, including an inventory of relief supplies and community coordination through case managers.

Opt in now to the new, curated email subscriptions. Individuals can subscribe to as few or as many offerings as they choose.

These new subscriptions are replacing the “net” email groups such as ClergyNet and LaityNet that ended July 1, 2024.

Offerings are:
• Obituaries (sent out as they are received by the Communications Office)
• Local Church events (sent out biweekly)
• Jobs (sent out biweekly)
• The Top Five (An email is sent every Thursday. This will be a news wrap up to give clergy and laity the tops five news items going into the weekend (Plus “Items for Free” subsection)
• Advocate newsletter (sent every Tuesday featuring Virginia UM and denominational news, grants, connection and educational opportunities)
