United Methodist Volunteers in Mission
United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) is grassroots movement with The United Methodist Church designed to provide an official channel whereby Chritians, both lay and clergy, may offer their skills and talents for Christian service at home and around the world on short term assigments at their own expense.
The Virginia Annual Conference has a steering committee that coordinates United Methodist Volunteers in Mission activities.

Virginia Volunteers in Mission promotes hands-on mission opportunities from everywhere to everywhere. Local faith communities, Districts, Regional, Conference, or General Church (General Board of Global Ministries) promoted trips all offer opportunities for hands-on mission experiences.
