Support Our Troops

The General Board of Church and Society and the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry sponsored a task force of Military and Veterans Administration chaplains to dialogue on the needs of service members returning from Iraq and/or Afghanistan and how The United Methodist Church can support these service members and their families. The task force has collected a body of reference materials and resources for local congregations to reach out to service members of their own congregations and to individuals in their communities. Bishop Kammerer asked that these  materials be shared with the churches of the Virginia Conference.
