Virginia United Methodist Advocate magazine
A major focus of the communications office is the Virginia United Methodist Advocate, the official conference magazine published monthly throughout the year. It provides information, interpretation and inspiration to approximately 7,000 subscribers.
How to Subscribe

Individual subscriptions are presently $15 per year ($25 for 2 years; $36 for 3 years) when paid directly to the Advocate office. Individuals who subscribe during their local church’s annual Advocate campaign pay the same rate.
Church members can save money and time by subscribing for 2 or 3 years — 2 years for $25 (SAVE $5) or 3 years for $36 (SAVE $9). (Super Savings off the cover price of $24/year!) A special rate of $12/year for each subscription is also available for bulk orders (five or more) going to one address. The Advocate Online is also now available. Cost is only $10 per year. For $20, you may purchase an online edition and a print edition.
To pay by check, make the check payable to "Virginia Conference United Methodist Church" and mail it with a subscription form to the Virginia United Methodist Advocate, P.O. Subscription forms are available to download as either jpgs or pdfs Subscription drives may be held at any time of the year; however, promotional materials — such as bulletin inserts and subscription envelopes — are provided in August so campaigns can be held in September and October and completed by Oct. 31.

How to Submit News
News of your church may be submitted for publication. Ask, "Does what my church is submitting for publication focus on effective ideas of outreach and mission of benefit to other churches across the conference?" If the answer is "yes," then send a brief article, keeping in mind that space limitations and other considerations may prevent your material from being printed. Remember, the editor always reserves the right to edit all copy. High quality photos are requested with close-up and candid shots preferred.
