Local Church Lay Leaders

The Lay Leader functions as the primary representative of the laity in the local church. The Lay Leader fosters awareness of the role of the laity, advises the church council on needs of the laity, serves as one communication link within the church, and represents the laity in many areas of ministry within the local church. Among the most important responsibilities of the Lay Leader are to: (1) serve as an advocate for laity, (2) model faithful discipleship, and (3) help other laity discern their spiritual gifts and avenues for service.

The following materials have been prepared by the Board of Laity to assist the Local Church Lay Leader.
