What is HERITAGE?
Published by the Virginia Conference Historical Society since 1973, HERITAGE is the bi-annual scholarly bulletin of Virginia United Methodist history. We focus on the people of United Methodist history, presenting Virginia historical events from the human point of view. Each issue features one or more well-researched articles as well as updates on current endeavors in Virginia Conference historical circles, occasional book reviews and, most important, Rev. Raymond Wrenn’s “Notes from the Ethelbert Drake Society.” Named for the eccentric first editor of The Methodist Christian Sentinel (forerunner of today’s Virginia Advocate), the society is “dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of items of Virginia Methodist history which heretofore have been overlooked or suppressed.” Click here to view a sample issue (pdf)
