Disability Awareness Sunday calls the Church to celebrate the gifts and graces of persons with disabilities and calls the Church and society to full inclusion of persons with disabilities in the community.” In the Virginia Conference, Disability Awareness Sunday is the first Sunday in February (Feb. 5). The conference Commission on Disabilities has developed worship materials and suggestions for disability awareness experiences that you can use on this Sunday or at any other time throughout the year. Worship materials were developed based on the Epistle reading for Epiphany 5B, which is 1 Corinthians 9:16-23. Click here for the Disability Awareness Sunday packet on the conference Web site.
