Dennis Scheer, Conference Treasurer, Business Manager
Welcome to the Treasurer’s Office. We have many and varied duties but the one that is probably the most important is that we serve as a conduit for the 1,206 churches of the Virginia Conference to get their funds where they want them to go in support of ministries beyond their local church and into ministries of the Conference, the United States and 167 additional countries throughout the world. Carol Crawford accounts for all the funds sent in by the local churches; Janet Davis is responsible for disbursement of funds and the conference payroll; Ed Miller is the Property Manager for the United Methodist Center; Terri Biggins who runs our mailroom and copying center; and Barbara Culver is our telephone receptionist. Dennis Scheer Dennis H. Scheer became the treasurer and business administrator for the Virginia Conference United Methodist Church in February 2006. Scheer comes to Virginia from the Greater New Jersey Conference where he served as treasurer and director of administrative services. He has also been treasurer of Red Bird Missionary, Holston, and Kansas West conferences over a 28-year career of serving the United Methodist Church. Scheer, who has a B.S. degree in business administration from Northwest Missouri State University, has been a delegate to several General Conferences, the United Methodist Church’s highest legislative body.
