Day 18: May 22

Matthew 28: 16-20

The disciples did go where Jesus told them to go. They were obedient in that respect. When they got there, they saw Him and worshiped but some did doubt. Isn’t that always the way? We have all been in meetings with the doubters. I call them “the sky is falling,” “the sky is falling” group; people who are always afraid of change; always afraid of the “new ways to do things.”

As the Virginia Annual Conference embarks on the exciting journey, of establishing new faith communities, church renewal and really embracing evangelism let us love the “doubters” and remember that Christ gave us this commission. And the best part . . . He will be with us always!

Prayer: Gracious Heavenly Father, touch us with your peace and give us courage to go in your name to do things that frighten us. Hold us in your hand and whisper in our ears that we are sent in your name. Take away all our fear and put into us the love of God. Amen.
