The sign in front of my local church reads, “Charity United Methodist Church – serving Christ and the community since 1789.” Through the years, the church has been a symbol of the sacrificial living and loving service of many of its members who have been transformed through its worship and fellowship.
As I reflect on that heritage, I ask myself whether God finds my life to be holy and acceptable, not conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of my mind through daily study of Scripture, meditation, and prayer.
The Virginia Conference “All Things New Task Force” has been working on discerning God’s will for our Conference. Let us pray that whatever decisions we make at Annual Conference will be good and acceptable and, with God’s help, perfect. For we know that nothing is impossible for God.
Prayer: Loving God, hear our prayer for the wisdom to discern what is good and acceptable and perfect in your sight. Accept each of us as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable, to be used in your service. Amen.
